Tammy Thies began her career as an “outside hire” for an ad-hoc Transamerica trainee class in February 2004. During her tenure as a frontline Underwriter, she underwrote a wide array of Life and Disability products. During this time, Tammy held team lead underwriting responsibilities for several distributions and also acted as a vendor liaison. She became an Associate Director of Underwriting in March 2010.
Tammy has represented Underwriting in several key initiatives, including the development of its newest front-end processing system. Most recently, Tammy joined the Transamerica Underwriting Research and Collaborative Analytics Team as a Consultant. Tammy brings a wealth of practical, process-improvement, project management, training, and creative knowledge to Transamerica. Tammy graduated with a BA in Interior Design from the University of Northern Iowa and resides in Cedar Rapids, IA.
