Dr. Rooney is Vice President and medical director for SCOR Life Reinsurance. His office is located in Leawood, Kansas. He graduated from UMKC School of Medicine and the Research Medical Center Residency program in Kansas City. He is board certified and a fellow in Family Medicine. He more recently obtained his executive MBA from Benedictine College. He was in private practice medicine for 20 years. He has been in the insurance field as a medical director for 12 years, the first 7 being on the health care side prior to joining what is now SCOR Global Life. He is a member of the American Academy of Insurance Medicine and is immediate past president of the Midwestern Medical Directors Association. He has written several articles for industry publications and is a frequent industry conference speaker on a variety of medical and underwriting topics.
